SPU/AFSCME has successfully negotiated with the Financial Oversight and Management Board (FOMB) over the plan to restructure Puerto Rico’s debts. Each SPU member will receive an additional $400 payment this year as a result of the settlement claim.

REGISTER HERE BY DECEMBER 1 TO RECEIVE YOUR CLAIM You must be a member of the SPU and make a claim for payment on or before December 1, 2023. To confirm eligibility and make your claim, click the submit claim button. The $400 SPU bonus will be paid on or about December 15, 2023, by direct deposit or by mailed check, if direct deposit is not available.

You are doing incredible work under very difficult circumstances, and we are proud that our union has successfully represented you during these very difficult times. SPU is the only union to have entered into an agreement with the FOMB which has provided you over $12,000 in bonus payments last year and an additional $2000 this year which, when combined with the $600 Christmas bonus and the $400 SPU bonus, will provide our members with $3000 this year.
